What consequences do most addictions share?

Beyond the effects on physical health, which are more specific to each addiction, there are many negative consequences that a great number of addictions share once they take hold. Having lived through all of them myself, it seems important to point out that the large majority of these symptoms can clear up as you treat your addictions at depth. Physical, emotional, intellectual, motivational and creative capacities gradually come back. But it is often useful to look them in the face, when you feel ready, and to treat them simply as more good reasons to stop.
